'Malaga' is part of the 'Dreaming' collection, a range of 100% solution dyed acrylic fabrics from Italvipla. Each fabric within the 'Malaga' range features different colour fibres on the warp and weft which add dimension to the look. 'Malaga' and the 'Dreaming' collection are perfect for use in interior and exterior settings due to the nature of its manufacturing process.
'Malaga' is 160cm wide and has a minimum order quantity of 5 metres.
When acrylic fabrics are manufactured, they start their life in a liquid form made from various polymers. This liquid is then put into a machine called a spinneret where the liquid is forced through tiny holes, long thin fibres are extruded which are then woven into fabric. In 100% solution dyed acrylic fabrics, the dye is added at the liquid polymer stage before the yarns are extruded, meaning it becomes part of the fabric make-up, as opposed to 100% yarn dye where the dye is added after the spinneret stage and does not penetrate the inner fibres.
This all means that with 100% solution dyed acrylic fabrics, you will have a fabric that will keep its colour, handle heavy use, and stand up to the elements, especially in marine environments.
