Used to secure a door, locker or storage box, this pressure die cast hasp and staple is used in conjunction with a padlock for extra security. The hasp is fitted to the door and the staple to the surrounding frame. The staple passing over the hasp and being blocked by the insertion of a padlock. The fixing holes of both the hasp and staple are then covered when secured to avoid tampering (stainless steel fixings can be purchased separately, 4x No.6 3.5mm screws required). Available in either a polished brass or chromed brass finish.
This particular hasp and staple features a simple clamping mechanism which means that the lid can be secured without the insertion of a padlock. The padlock merely secures the fitting. This allows for the quick opening and then securing of the locker or storage bin without having to lock each time.
Foresti & Suardi have been manufacturing pressure die cast brass marine hardware since 1961. Fittings such as this hasp and staple are amongst the core products manufactured since those early days. The tooling may have been updated and technology has moved on a great deal, but these are the heritage pieces that established the reputation of Foresti & Suardi, as well as Timage, in the global yacht accessories market.
Our Heritage Collection features fittings that have been in our catalogue of hardware since the beginning of our brand back in 1978. The parts are typically pressure die cast brass and can be supplied in a polished, unlacquered finish or with a chrome plating. These parts are iconic pieces of 'deck jewellery', made famous by the 1960's and 70's timber craft and commonly used on modern interpretations of such boats.
