Safety Gates

Our custom yacht safety gates are made to our client's designs and make use of our innovative friction hinge system. This hinge is designed to operate through 90° in a single direction (forward), ensuring that the gate provides suitable protection if anyone on board were to fall against it when sailing. The friction hinge mechanism is a push to open operation, holding firm in both the fully open and fully closed positions. For situations where a 180° opening is required, we can provide a secondary lift and turn action for aft opening. The entire assembly is made from 316 grade stainless steel and can also feature other suitable materials such as acrylic, glass, carbon fibre or timber.

Our friction hinge mechanism has been laboratory tested to over 20,000 continuous cycles.
