Keep Your Passerelle Looking its Best!

Besenzoni passerelles are produced from marine-grade materials that reduce the need of cleaning and maintenance. In this blog we will talk you through some steps you can take to ensure you get the best from your passerelle.

Regular Maintenance

Every time you return to harbour wash it with fresh water and dry it with a soft cloth, paying particular attention the stainless steel components. lf the passerelle is left to dry without being wiped down, the stainless steel can be subject to corrosion.

Ensure that you avoid cleaning with materials or products that may scratch the stainless steel surface and cause corrosion.

Occasional Maintenance

Periodically wash the gangway with a neutral biodegradable detergent, your passerelle is subjected to acidic and greasy deposits due to exposure to engine exhaust fumes.

Seasonal Maintenance

At the start of the season clean the extending section guides and hinges, ensuring you lubricate them with a suitable spray product. Check the batteries in your remote control are in good condition.

At the beginning of winter treat the timber walkway of the gangway with a suitable protective product.

Yearly Maintenance

At least once a year protect the walkway with a suitable protective product, to avoid water absorption and swelling of the wood. Check the oil level, if it is below the minimum level, refill with OIL OSO 46 or similar.

Last but not least, remember to always ask a Besenzoni approved technician to perform repairs. Consult the Besenzoni map to find your closest technician.
