Today I interviewed Deborah 'Badger' Page. As usual I will be asking her questions relating to work, as well as some random quickfire questions.
I work in Purchasing and Accounts
I don’t know, about 25 years? I first worked here for about 5 years, I then left and had my two boys, I came back and have been here for 21 years now.
Drinking coffee, raising purchase orders and dealing with incoming and outgoing account transactions.
A police woman. Or, a hod carrier, on the building sites. They used to have the hods that they would put the bricks in and carry over their shoulder and take up the ladder. Don’t ask me why, but a hod carrier.
The atmosphere, it is a really good atmosphere. I like hearing the laughter, we are all team players and have great camaraderie.
I haven’t watched it for a long time, but The Walking Dead. My favourite film is ‘My Fair Lady’ because I think I am like Eliza Doolittle.
Spirit in the Sky by Doctor and the Medics. I want that song to be played at my funeral, along with Angels by Robbie Williams and the Elvis song that played when Nick and I got married. Not that you need to know that, but just in case Nick and my children forget, that’s what I am having.
(Deborah at her desk, wishing I wasn't taking her photo!)
The first job I ever had was with a youth opportunities programme with Geest Industries, doing general office work and answering the phones, it was good.
The teak trunks, if you want to know why, its because I can hide alcohol in them
John Cleese, as Basil Fawlty, playing me.
Only one? Do I get to spend the night with them? (This is a typical Deborah response, so I roll my eyes and she realises I want an answer that is printable).
Someone I could sit and chat with…I would go for Christiano Ronaldo, I would like to know his life story because of where he came from.
Minnics Heaven. My nickname has always been Min and my husband is Nick, so Minnics Heaven.
Probably, going out in the car on a Sunday with my brother and dad. My dad would put a stamp on the fuel level and on the way home he would pretend that we could run out of petrol at any time.
Life-long, because I have spent most of my working life here, enjoyable and stressful because of the bosses! (I am sure she is joking!)
Now, if I can see through clothes, can I see skin, or a skeleton? Ok, so my serious answer would be that I would like to have the power to make people that are ill, well.
My life motto…just be happy, don’t stress, enjoy!
