In this series, I (Louisa) will be interviewing my colleagues, so that you can get to know who works at Timage and what we are like outside of work too!
Today I am interviewing our very own karaoke king, Dave 'Wombat' Allen. In the 'Meet our Team' series I will be asking my colleagues questions relating to work, but also random quickfire questions.
I have been working at Timage for exactly 12 years and 10 days.
I am a warehouse operative. I pick, pack and despatch orders for our customers, unload and check in deliveries from the factories, and book carriers to come in and take the orders out.
Playing darts. Pub, darts, beer - in that order!
I was a baker. When I left school we moved to Potters Bar and I didn't have a job. I applied to be a butcher at Sainsburys and I ended up getting a job as a baker. I got my City & Guilds qualification in baking and worked there for 7 years.
It has to be Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond.
(At this point Dave chuckles, because I am sure he has a few words to say that I couldn't possibly type here)
Enjoyable. Varied, because we are doing something different every day. Rewarding, when I get all my jobs done I do find it rewarding.
Dave, in his natural habitat, picking orders for you!
Stew and dumplings, without a doubt. We have this conversation at home, I'd have deep-fried mushrooms, stew and dumplings and apple pie and custard. That would be my death bed meal.
Steve McQueen, he was cool, good looking like me and came across as a really nice bloke.
The helmseats. I think they look really smart and they are very good quality.
Menorca, particularly Cala'n Bosch. I last went there with the family 2 years ago and we have been 14 times. We were meant to go this year but obviously we haven't been able to but we are booked up for next year already.
Darts. I am good at it, but I would like to be good enough so that I could do it for a living.
The atmosphere. The way I see it, is that you are at work more than you are at home so you have to enjoy it. I wouldn't make a 65 mile round trip everyday if I didn't enjoy being here. We all chip in together, help each other, we get on and everyone makes it worth coming in.
I hope you enjoyed our first blog in this series, I am certainly going to enjoy grilling my colleagues!
