Meet the Team - Adam Brown

It has been quite some time since I introduced my colleagues to you, our readers, so we are back with another instalment of our 'Meet the Team' series. Today you will be meeting Adam, our tomahawk steak enthusiast in stores.

Hi Adam - can you please explain your role here at Timage?

I am a warehouse operative, this involves picking and checking of orders, loading, and unloading lorries, booking items to go via freight and liaising with the office.

And when did you join Timage?

2nd January 2022 – I remember walking in on the first day and I didn’t know what to do or what door to go in, I was nervous.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I enjoy going to the gym, fishing, and going out to eat. I would say holidays too, but I haven’t been a lot recently, roll on the summer, I do like a drink and some food – particularly a tomahawk steak.

What was your first job?

My first ever job was at Safeways as a cashier, I was 16 and I worked there when I was at college until I was about 18. I worked some silly hours, I would get in at 5 in the morning to clean the bakers ovens before I went to college. That was my first ever paid job.

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I wanted to be an architect, I had quite a thing for drawing and I liked design, I did a little at college and I worked for my dad, he was a carpenter – but I never took to it.

If you had a boat, what type of boat would it be?

We saw some at Southampton, a chase boat, they stand out for me. That would do me, I could go and cruise about. I am a modest man, nothing too flashy.

What three words would you use to describe your time at Timage?

Challenging, enjoyable and satisfying – they are not bad ones, are they?

If you were stranded on a desert island, what would be your three luxury products?

You would have to have a survival kit with a lighter in it, an axe so I can chop some trees down and start a fire – I am a survivor and how do you make beer? A brewing kit.

What would be your go to karaoke song?

Oh, Tom Jones ‘It’s not unusual’ in a Scottish accent (I point out that Tom Jones is Welsh). It was Connery Karaoke; we would sing songs in a Sean Connery accent.

What is the best thing about working at Timage?

The people, the fact that I can walk here and it is a very varied job role. There is always something going on here, it is the variation, it is never boring and there is always something to learn, the people are the best.

Finally, and most importantly, what is your favourite Timage product?

I am going to say the doors, it is one of the most physical things I do (the checking in and loading of them) I like lifting and shifting as it keeps me fit, I feel good after I have done it.
