New Product Release - Rockford Fosgate

There have been some great new developments at Rockford Fosgate with a soon to be released, brand new range of speakers and subwoofers.  The new units feature a fresh new design, Color Optix™ LED lighting technology and even clearer, more accurate sound.

This new line up of M0, M1 and M2 Series speakers and subwoofers offer the ultimate in marine audio speakers.  The full line of Element Ready™ products are designed to pair with the Color Optix™ and RF Connect App for an integrated lighting command system.  To achieve industry leading plug and play connectivity Deutsch™ and Amphenol™ connectors are integrated into the design on all the M1 and M2 drivers. This combined with their IP67 certification make these speakers and subwoofers Element Ready™ and truly purpose built for marine applications. To compliment the plug and play connectivity and streamline installation, Rockford equipped all M1 and M2 subwoofers with a VersaSwitch™ to make changing impedance between 1 and 4 or 2 and 8 ohms as easy as flipping a switch.

M0 – A New Standard in Entry Level Speakers

Rockford Fosgate have completely refreshed the entire range including the already impressive RM entry level speakers.  These are now being replaced with the new M0 units in either a white or black finish.  These 6.5” speakers offer an impressive 65 Watts RMS with a 250 Watts Peak power handling, an impressive increase in power over the previous RM models.  Purpose built to play high quality sound in the outdoors, the M0 speakers deliver superb low end and mid-range frequency reproduction via an injection moulded mineral filled polypropylene cone body, santoprene surround, and Rockford’s patented VAST (vertical attach surround technique) Technology to increase the effective radiating cone area. By pairing this with an efficient, grill integrated, tweeter the speakers’ sonic signature is rounded out by smooth crystal-clear high frequencies.

M1 – Raising The Game

The M1 speaker range offers a new mid-level product in the Rockford range.  Available either a 6.5” or 8” driver size, the speakers pack a real punch and feature the brand new Color Optix™ technology with fully integrated RGB lighting all simply controlled from the RF Connect app via your smartphone or tablet.

The 6.5” speakers are a 4-Ohm units with 75 Watts RMS and 300 Watts peak power handling.  The sound is clear and precise and the speaker also makes use of some of Rockford’s industry leading technologies such as VAST, which increases the speaker’s effective radiating cone area by up to 25%.  Available in a white or black UV stable ASA finish, the speakers can sit well installed in a variety of GRP colours.

The 8” M1 speakers make use of the same technologies as their smaller 6.5” counterparts.  With these speakers however, Rockford Fosgate is able to increase the RMS and peak power handling further to 150 Watts and 600 Watts respectively.  There is no question that these speakers will keep your music heard over the noise of the wind and the sea!

M2 – The Ultimate Marine Speaker

The M2 units are the result of years of research and development in the marine sector.  As with the M1 Series, the M2’s are available in 6.5” or 8” sizes and feature the new Color Optix™ lighting technology.  The specification of these speakers is industry leading.  M2 6.5” feature 150 Watt RMS and 600 Watts peak power handling whilst the 8” units offer a massive 250 Watts RMS and 1000 Watts peak.  Gold plated brass speaker connection terminals, high temp Kapton™ woofer voice coil formers, VAST technology and a fully sealed integrated concealed crossover (ICC) network are just some of the features that mean that these speakers first and foremost sound incredible. 

Included with the M2 speaker Series are two types of grille, allowing the customer to decide in situ whether to use the ASA plastic grille or the stainless steel open mesh alternative.  Both the 6.5” and the 8” speakers are available in white or black finish.

Subwoofers – M1 & M2, In a Class of Their Own

As well as the M1 and M2 speakers, Rockford have also launched a new range of matching subwoofers. M1 subwoofers are available in an 8”, 10” and 12” sizes and the M2 subwoofer is currently available in a 10” or 12” option.  These subwoofers pack a massive punch having had a complete redesign over the previous models.  The top of the range M2 sub in 12” configuration can handle 400 Watts RMS and 1600 Watts peak!  The subwoofers feature an innovative VersaSwitch™ system allowing you to select the input impedance according to your needs, between 1 and 4 or 2 and 8 Ohms.  Just like the M2 speakers, the subwoofers also include two types of grille, ASA plastic or stainless steel.
